But that’s exactly what three Wiltshire women are claiming.
Bratton-based Astarte Healing is a company that works with real estate agents and homeowners to “remove negative energy and restore balance to troubled environments.”
The business claims to have restored everything from bedrooms to stores, and even a cargo ship that was once haunted by a woman who died at sea years ago.
Their website explains signs that a home may be “unhealthy” and may need healing. These include feeling anxious when stepping into doors or certain areas, not being able to sell your home, having bad luck or unexplained insomnia, and suffering from anxiety.
Other signs include feeling unwell, regular arguments in the house, unusual pet behavior, objects being moved or lost, plants not being able to grow, and cold spots that never warm up.
The site says a free energy check will be carried out on the property to determine the extent of the problem and to determine whether negative energies, such as geopathic stress or psychic phenomena, are present.
The team then begins by examining the property’s “vitality” on a scale of zero to 100%.
The team then uses the photos and floor plans to perform dowsing using distant healing skills until all negative elements are removed.
We also offer advice on the best furniture placement, color schemes, and use of plants and crystals to maintain new positive energy in your home and grounds.
The business, run by Caroline Wood, Jane Edwards and Eve Harris-Martin, is perhaps one of the most unusual in the county, but all three women came from relatively “normal” jobs. He says he got into this profession.
Jane, a former nurse, and Caroline, an interior architect and designer, say they have always had a passion for helping people and now, as Reiki practitioners, they can share that passion.
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique built on the idea of ”invisible life force energy” that exists all around us.
“I first encountered Reiki several years ago when my mother was terminally ill with pancreatic cancer,” Caroline explained.
“There was a moment when I thought it would be great to use the healing elements of my work in the design part, so I started seriously considering it.”
Eve, who comes from a corporate background, first came to the business as a customer after buying her first home and feeling spiritually unhealthy.
“We work out of a garden studio in Bratton, which used to be an abattoir, so we have to spend a lot of time clearing negative energy from its ‘bloody’ past. ” said Caroline.
“I tell people that the energy of a place is like Wi-Fi. You know it’s there, but you can’t see the actual energy telling you things.”
“We ask our intuition what’s going on here, whether it’s the influence of spiritual activity, geopathic stress, technology, etc.,” Caroline explained.
“Jane sketches the symbols she sees. Each symbol deals with something different, like an underground water source, her past, or a health issue.”
The three women ask the property owner to leave the area during the healing, and then work remotely from Caroline’s garden studio to “heal” the property of bad energy.
“Back in the days when cathedrals were built, master architects were always dozing off to find the energy of the place where the altar would be placed.” So it’s actually a very old profession.” said Caroline.
“There is definitely a global awakening gaining momentum and people are looking at a more holistic approach to problems.
“In the future we would like to hold workshops so people can help themselves.”
